Give me a free week and I will be somewhere with height or water. The Karakoram above Skardu when I can get there, Azerbaijan's valleys, a reef in the Maldives, a boat off Dubai with too many people on it and nowhere in particular to be.
It has quietly shaped how I work. You recon the route, you climb in stages, you do not skip acclimatisation because you are excited, and you never, ever go up alone if you can bring good people with you. Every one of those turned out to be a business principle. The contour lines running through this site are traced from my own photographs of that range.
The other half of it is people. I like a full table. I like the moment a group that did not know each other in the morning is arguing happily about something by dinner. Most of my best client relationships started as a conversation that had nothing to do with work and never entirely became one.
